Waldorf falls to Bellevue in NSAA Tournament
DICKINSON, N.D. - After a comeback win Friday night, the Waldorf baseball team faced No. 1-seed Bellevue in a winner's bracket game Saturday. Bellevue proved why they are the No. 1 seed and defeated the Warriors 10-0.
In the regular season, Waldorf was one of two teams to hand Bellevue a defeat. Today, neither team had a base runner over the first two innings as Waldorf's Zach Meyer struck out three of the first six Bellevue batters. Bellevue got through in the third as they used three extra-base hits en route to four third-inning runs. Bellevue scored two more in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead. Meyer pitched the first five innings allowing six runs (five earned) and six hits. It stayed 6-0 until the seventh. Bellevue hit a lead-off home run. A triple added another run then a two-run home run ended the game early as Bellevue won 10-0.
Waldorf is still alive in the tournament. They face an elimination game tomorrow against Dakota State at noon (11 a.m. mountain) in Dickinson.
