Warriors Fall to Trojans in Second Round

DICKINSON, N.D. – The Waldorf baseball team competed in the second round of the NSAA conference tournament against No. 2 Dakota State. The Warriors made a strong push in the 5th inning, but the Trojans capitalized on errors to win 7-13.
In the 2nd inning, the Trojans scored off of a Warrior error and extended their lead by five in the 5th inning.
The Warriors responded well in the bottom of the inning. Davis Churchman (SR/Ankeny, IA) started with an RBI single getting Nathen Westfield (SO/Indian Harbor Beach, FL) to score. Anthony Hibl (JR/Sharon, WI) scored next from an RBI walk by Damien Sanchez (JR/Riverside, CA).
Thomas Capllonch then got a two-run RBI single with Churchman and Juan Jorge (JR/Bronx, NY) scoring. Atticus Smith (SO/Kent, WA) came up with an RBI single with Sanchez crossing home plate. The Warriors were down 5-6.
The Trojans added a run in the 6th inning and then four more in the 7th.
Ryan Webster (SO/Las Vegas, NV) had a two-run RBI single with Capllonch and Sanchez scoring.
The Trojans scored two more runs to win 7-13.
Jamie Olson (SO/Menifee, CA) started on the mound for the Warriors and finished with four strikeouts and one walk. Capllonch and Webster each had two RBIs.
The Warriors will play in the loser out game against No. 4 Mayville State tomorrow at 12 p.m.
