Waldorf Baseball Plays Doubleheader against Oliver Nazarene

O'FALLON, Mo. – The Waldorf baseball team traveled to play a non-conference three-game weekend series against Oliver Nazarene at The CarShield Field. The Warriors lost both games, 1-5 and 13-14.
In the top of the 3rd inning, Damien Sanchez (JR/Riverside, CA) got an RBI single allowing Davis Churchman (SR/Ankeny, IA) to score the only run for the Warriors.
The Tigers took the lead in the 4th inning with a two-run homer to take the lead. The Tigers added another run in the 5th inning and two more in the 6th to take the 1-5 win.
Ryan Meyer (JR/Gilbert, AZ) pitched for the Warriors and finished with six strikeouts and zero walks.
For game two, the Tigers took an early lead in the bottom of the 1st inning with scoring three runs.
Ryan Webster (SO/Las Vegas, NV) responded at the top of the 2nd with a two-run homer, getting Thomas Capllonch (SR/Kailua, HI) to home plate as well.
The Tigers got a two-run homer of their own and an RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd to extend the lead 2-6.
Meyer got an RBI single allowing Atticus Smith (SO/Kent, WA) to score the third run in the 4th. The Tigers got a home run in the bottom of the inning.
The Warriors had a big 5th and 6th inning by taking the lead. Zach Meyer got an RBI single with Churchman scoring. Capllonch kept the momentum with a double getting Meyer and Sanchez to score and Anthony Hibl (JR/Sharon, WI) got a sacrifice bunt RBI with Capllonch tying the game at 7-7.
Churchman started the 6th inning with a two-run homer with Gage Miller (JR/Reno, NV) scoring and Capllonch got another home run with Sanchez scoring. Robert Gurney (FR/Campbell River, BC) kept the hot bat going with an RBI single allowing Webster to score. The Warriors were up 12-7.
The Tigers were able to tie the game at the end of the 6th inning, scoring three of their runs on wild pitches.
Capllonch got an RBI double to start the 8th inning getting Meyer to score and take the lead 13-12.
The Tigers won the game in the bottom of the inning, 13-14.
Three Warrior athletes each had three hits, with Capllonch having five RBIs and Churchman, Capllonch and Webster all getting a home run.
The Warriors will play the Tigers for a single 9-inning game tomorrow, Saturday March 11th starting at 12 p.m.
