Waldorf Baseball Splits Day 2 Against Bethel

MCKENZIE, Tenn - Waldorf Baseball splits Day 2 of the weekend series against Bethel.
In Game 1, Bethel would take the lead with one run each in the second and third innings, holding Waldorf scoreless. In the fifth inning, Seth Mifflin scored Waldorf's first run followed by two more runs from Chase Becker and Mason Smith, taking the 3-2 lead. At the top of the sixth, Waldorf would extend their lead after Lucas Romero and AJ Toulouse scored, leading 5-2. Bethel tied the game to 5-5 after responding with three runs of their own. Bethel would hold Waldorf scoreless at the top of the seventh and would score one more run in the bottom of the seventh to win 6-5.
In Game 2, both teams remained scoreless until the top of the third when Waldorf's Romero scored to take the 1-0 lead. Bethel scored their only run at the bottom of the third to tie up the ball game. Neither team scored until the top of the sixth when Waldorf scored three runs by Toulouse, Atticus Smith, and Tyler Wytulka to make it a 4-1 Waldorf lead. Neither team scored again, and Waldorf finished with a 4-1 win over Bethel.
Brendan McKelvey ended the game with a double and an RBI while Mifflin had one RBI and Isaiah Martin had two RBIs. Wytulka and M. Smith turned a double play in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Waldorf plays Grand View University for their first home game of the season at 1pm on Wednesday, March 12.
