Women's Basketball - Warriors Fall to Presentation on the Road
The Waldorf women's basketball team was on the road for their final away conference weekend of the regular season. The Warriors fall 48-79.
The Saints started the game off with an 8-2 run. Taylor Moen (JR/Big Lake, MN) stopped the run by draining a three and Lizzie Garza (JR/Brownsville, TX) made a jump shot to make the score 7-8.
Kinsey Tweedy (SR/Roselle, IL) tied the game at 9-9 with just under five minutes left in the first quarter. The Saints went up 10-18 to close out the quarter.
The Warriors struggled to score in the second period by getting outscored 7-18. The Saints opened the second quarter with a 13-1 run against the Warriors. Moen and Garza scored back-to-back for the Warriors.
Moen and Bethan Rehse (SR/Ida Grove, IA) each scored for the Warriors in the third quarter. The Saints extend their lead, 21-51. Hailey Maas (JR/McGregor, MN) scored seven points to close out the quarter.
Cloey Dmytruk (FR/St. Paul, MN) and Edosa Ogbemudia (FR/East Bethel, MN) scored back-to-back for start the fourth quarter and Jordan Lukes hit a 3-pointer.
Eliza McKown (FR/Orono, MN) ended the game scoring a three with four seconds left. The Warriors lost 48-79.
"Unfortunately, we really struggled to score again tonight, and a very motivated Presentation squad played very well," stated Head Coach Shawn Chaffin.
Maas finished the game with a team-high of 11 points. Moen added seven points and Garza had six.
The Warriors bounce back for another conference game at Mayville State tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 11th starting at 3 p.m.
