Waldorf Falls Short to Martin Luther in Final Game of the 2024 Year

Forest City, IA — In a hard-fought battle, the Waldorf Warriors fell to Martin Luther 72-59 in their final game before the new year. Despite their come back in the 2nd quarter, the Warriors couldn't close the gap and ended 2024 with a loss.
Brooke Dial led the way for Waldorf, scoring 18 points while contributing 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Dial's effort on both ends of the floor kept the Warriors in the game, but Martin Luther's defense and timely shooting proved too much in the end. Edosa Ogbemudia also had a solid showing with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks, while Fatou Barry chipped in with 12 points.
Head coach Shawn Chaffin acknowledged the team's resilience but emphasized the need for improvement as they head into the next half of their season in 2025. "Disappointed we didn't get the sweep this week" Chaffin said. "The break comes at a good time as we need to get healthy and hit the reset button going into our second half of GPAC conference play".
Waldorf will look to return play in 2025 versus upcoming opponent, Midland University on Thursday January 2nd at 4:00pm in the Hanson Fieldhouse.
