Women's Basketball Conclude 2022-2023 Season at Mayville State

The Waldorf women's basketball team competed in the first round of the NSAA Conference Tournament for a contest against Mayville State. The Warriors season was cut short, falling 46-93.
The Comets came out strong to start the game by going on an 8-0 run against the Warriors. Taylor Moen (JR/Big Lake, MN) stopped the run with a jump shot.
Lizzie Garza (JR/Brownsville, TX) scored next, and Lindsay Field (JR/Eyota, MN) got a block, defensive rebound and made a jump shot. The Comets were up 6-21 at the end of the first.
The Warriors almost doubled their points in the second quarter but were unable to slow down the Comets by having their biggest quarter scoring 31 points.
Moen and Garza finished with nine points. Seniors Kinsey Tweedy and Bethany Rehse had five and seven points respectively.
"I'd like to thank our 2 seniors for everything this year. They can be proud that they were part of the beginning of our program's growth," Head Coach Shawn Chaffin stated. "Recruiting is going very well, and our returners will have a tremendous off-season."
The Warriors concluded the 2022-2023 season 4-21 overall and 2-12 in conference.
