Warriors Send off Four Seniors, Comets Take Game

FOREST CITY, IA – It was the final appearance for four veteran Warriors Saturday. Waldorf University sent off its senior players, but Mayville State took the women's basketball game, 90-47.
The Warriors day started off well with the game's opening four points in the first 1:31. In fact, Waldorf continued its early run and held a 10-2 lead on a Brooke Dial jumper at 4:25 and Sandra Christian drained a 3-pointer for a 13-6 edge with 3:26 to go of the first period. Mayville State, though, took the game from there as it ran off the final eight first-quarter points and made it an overall 17-2 run to break the game open at 34-15 midway through the second frame.
Waldorf honored its four senior players – Lizzie Garza, Lindsay Field, Christian and Deaira Keaton – before the start of the contest. Each of the Warrior quartet contributed points in their final home appearance led by Garza's 13 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Field added seven points and six boards. Christian hit the first-quarter 3-pointer for her points and Keaton had the second bucket of the day.
Dial led the home charge with 17 points and seven caroms.
With a 32-point and 13-rebound double-double, Mayville State's Jordan Zrust led all players.
