Women's Basketball - Warriors Fall to (RV)Dakota State

The Waldorf women's basketball team started the second half of NSAA conference play with (RV)Dakota State. The Warriors lost 38-76.
Kinsey Tweedy (SR/Roselle, IL) gave the Warriors their first points of the game by sinking a three in the first quarter and Edosa Ogbemudia (FR/East Bethel, MN) added two. The Trojans went up 5-11 before Tweedy and Lizzie Garza (JR/Brownsville, TX) scored.
At the end of the first, the Warriors trailed 9-18. Bethany Rehse (SR/Ida Grove, IA) opened the second quarter with a three. The Trojans scored a quick basket to go up 12-20. Rehse and Ogbemudia made two free-throws each.
Going into halftime, Dakota State was up 18-33.
Lindsay Field (JR/Eyota, MN) opened the third quarter by scoring two. With just over five minutes left in the quarter, the Trojans go up by 29. Rehse made two free-throws and a field goal to close out the quarter, 28-51.
For the fourth quarter, the Trojans outscore the Warriors 10-25 and won 38-76.
"Got off to a much better start tonight against DSU," Head Coach Shawn Chaffin stated. "Too many turnovers of course, but we accomplished one of our goals of outrebounding them tonight after getting bounced last week. Getting a little better each day, and we still have a lot of goals within reach down the stretch."
Rehse finished with nine points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Ogbemudia added eight points and Tweedy had six points and six rebounds. Field had seven rebounds and Alyah Abrahamson (FR/Browerville, MN) had four assists.
The Warriors will play Bellevue University tomorrow, Saturday Jan. 28th starting at 3 p.m.
