Warriors Drop Two to Dakota Wesleyan University

FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Warriors hosted the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers for a doubleheader on Thursday.
The Warriors got off to a strong start in Game 1, taking the lead after the first two innings 3-0 with runs by Rylee Rauch, Drake Fetters, and Mason Smith. Dakota Wesleyan surged ahead with five runs at the top of the third, one run in the fourth, and one run in the fifth to take a 7-3 lead. Despite trailing, the Warriors showed resilience and fought back with two runs from Dylan Battye and Jaleal Walker in the seventh inning. However, they weren't able to score enough runs, and the Tigers won 7-5.
In Game 2, the Tigers took the lead at the top of the second with two runs. The Warriors tied it up in the fourth inning with M. Smith's two run single, bringing in Seth Mifflin and Ryan Webster. Dakota Wesleyan capitalized on errors made by Waldorf, scoring four runs in the sixth inning. Mifflin scored the Warriors' last run in the sixth inning, and with one last run from the Tigers, Waldorf started the bottom of the seventh down 7-3. Dakota Wesleyan kept the Warriors from scoring and took the win.
The Warriors are back on the road for another conference match up with the Concordia University Bulldogs on Friday, March 28 at 3pm and 5:30pm.
