Redhawks Hold Warriors Off Softball Scoreboard

TUCSON, AZ – In the second day in Arizona, the Warriors had a better afternoon. Haley Ehlert laced a double, but Waldorf University could not get her around to home as Benedictine Mesa took away a 5-0 softball win on Tuesday.
After two scoreless innings, the Redhawks saw three runners race around and score to take a 3-0 lead. Benedictine Mesa added a single tally in both the fifth and seventh for what would be the 5-0 final.
Along with Ehlert double, the Warriors also saw Kaela Eslinger single two times. Both Paige Peterson and Brooke Hickey lined one hit apiece.
In the circle, Mckenna Mentink went 5.1 innings where she allowed five hits, but no earned runs and struck out one.
Waldorf returns to the diamond for its next two games on Thursday (March 7) with a 2:30 CST first pitch against Graceland University and a second contest against Briar Cliff to follow at 4:30 p.m.
