Warriors Earn First Conference Win Against Briar Cliff

FOREST CITY, IA - Waldorf splits with Briar Cliff and gains first conference win of the season on Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors ended the first game with a one run loss (6-5) and secured a 7-11 win in game two.
Game One:
M. Zimmerman took the mound as the starting pitcher for Waldorf, facing a tough Chargers lineup. Throughout the game, the Warriors demonstrated strong offensive efforts, with players like Paige Pierson, Reagan Ridout, Noemi Tudon, Alyssa Maldonado, and Dionne Lopez each earning runs.
The pivotal moment for Waldorf came in the 5th inning, when K. Schulz hit a crucial 2-run single to tie the game. Schulz, noted for her impactful play, finished the game with two RBIs. Additionally, T. Oakes's 4th inning triple was a major highlight.
The go-ahead run was hit on a solo shot by the Chargers in the top of the 7th inning, which would in turn be the game winning run.

Game Two:
Waldorf's offense carried them to a strong 11-7 win in game two over Briar Cliff. T. Oakes shined brightly with a solo shot to dead center in the 1st inning.
The lineup was further bolstered by Paige Pierson, Jenna Busch, Dionne Lopez, Kierra Lynn Schulz, and Jaycee Plath, who all scored runs, propelling the team to maintain a lead against the Chargers. Reagan Ridout helped herself by going 2 for 3 with two singles.
