Clark, Hickey highlight Waldorf's NSAA softball all-conference selections

DICKINSON, N.D. - Four Waldorf softball players were recognized Thursday night as North Star Athletic Association Softball All-Conference selections.
Earning First-Team All-Conference At-large selections were freshman Madison Clark and junior Brooke Hickey. Clark leads the Warriors in batting with a .354 average. She is second on the team in both home runs (3) and runs batted in (19). Hickey had some impressive late season stats to help earn all-conference nods. She leads the team in home runs with five and runs batted in with 25. A good chunk of that came in the final regular season series against Viterbo where she hit three home runs and drove in 12 runs to earn the final NSAA Softball Player of the Week award of the season.
Senior Kaela Eslinger earned Second-Team All-Conference recognition. She is second on the game with a .340 batting average and is second behind Hickey in base hits with 32. She does lead the Warriors with a .431 on-base percentage.
Bellevue's Katie Cunningham was named both the NSAA's Player and Pitcher of the Year.
Haley Ehlert was the Waldorf recipient of the NSAA Champions of Character.
Waldorf begins NSAA Tournament play Friday night at 6:30 central (5:30 mountain) at Dickinson State.
