FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf Baseball team faced off against conference opponent Doane University for Day 1 of their weekend series.
In Game 1, the Warriors were narrowly defeated by Doane with a final score of 14-12.
The Warriors saw significant contributions from several players. Rylee Rauch, Cameren Rindone, Lucas Romero, Drake Fetters, Atticus Smith, Seth Mifflin, Mason Smith, Anthony Hibl, and AJ Toulouse all crossed the plate to score for Waldorf. The offensive efforts were led by Rindone, Romero, and Smith, who each added three RBIs, while Mifflin contributed two, and M. Smith rounded out the count. Highlighting the power at the plate, Rindone and Romero notched a home run each in the game.
In Game 2, the Doane Tigers won 18-9.
Key players from the Warriors, including Rauch, Rindone, Romero, Jack Kamalski, and Isaiah Martin, made notable contributions. Rauch and Rindone shone with impressive home runs that kept the Warriors competitive. Rindone particularly stood out, not only with his home run but also with four RBIs and a crucial stolen base. Additional performances by Romero, Kamalski, and Martin contributed to the runs, with Martin also hitting a home run.
The Warriors will compete against Doane University for Day 2 on April 13 at 2pm and 4:30pm.
