Warriors Compete with Morningside University

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Waldorf Women's Basketball had an incredible start to Wednesday night's game against the Morningside Mustangs. They took the lead early, holding it for most of the first half. The Mustangs started hitting their shots in the second quarter, taking the lead and heading into halftime 29-23. The Warriors continued to fight to take the lead again in the second half, but the Mustangs pulled away and took the win 66-54.
Four Warriors had impressive individual stats. Sophia Laurel scored a career high of 16 points. Edosa Ogbemudia finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Brooke Dial finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds, earning themselves double-doubles. Cameryn McQuery also had 10 rebounds.
Coach Shawn Chaffin said he's "really proud of how hard we battled. Got nice contributions from other players on our team as they keyed on Brooke. Sophia's career high gave us a shot in the arm we needed."
The Warriors travel to College of St. Mary in Omaha, Neb. on Saturday, February 8 at 2pm.
