Waldorf University Hires Joel Stryker as Head Women’s Basketball Coach

FOREST CITY, Iowa - Waldorf University is pleased to announce the hiring of Joel Stryker as Head Women's Basketball Coach. Stryker has coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels and is familiar with the GPAC, having served as assistant coach for the Doane University men's basketball team for five years. Most recently, he coached at Wayne State College as the assistant men's basketball coach.
Coach Stryker said, "First, I would like to thank Chad Gassman, Mike Heitkamp, Michael Wirth, Bri Ebenhoe, and Jenna Quina. It was great getting to know everyone I met through the interview process. I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity given to lead the Women's program at Waldorf. My wife and I cannot wait to transition to Forest City and begin to get connected in the community."
Director of Athletics, Chad Gassman, said, "Joel and Quinn will be a wonderful addition to the Waldorf and North Iowa communities. Joel understands what it takes to be successful in this very competitive conference. He showed he's ready for this opportunity, and I'm excited to see him get to work."

Coach Stryker begins his recruiting duties immediately as the team prepares for the 2025-26 season.
